Daily Motivation

Ask me anything!   Submit   I'm a 20 year old from New York and I recently started keeping a closer eye on what I'm eating. A recent visit to my doctor showed that as a result of my heritage, I am sodium intolerant and high blood pressure, weight gain, and even diabetes could develop if I'm not careful.

Do exercises which you enjoy and keep you motivated! For me, that's competitive swimming and running. One goal is to also include yoga in the mix.

I'm designing this blog to keep both myself and others motivated to not only begin leading healthy lives, but to continue and make healthy living a lifestyle!

If you were looking for motivation, I am just one of many people going through the same thing as you. The going may be slow, but it's your life! Now is the time to stop saying "tomorrow" and begin getting on track TODAY. It's all up to you.
I welcome your stories and questions as well!

Let's get started together :)
fit-and-heal-thyy:

Looking for a healthy snack? Look no further!
I’ve fallen in love with this Autumn Wheat cereal from Kashi! Serving size is one cup. Has 0 mg of sodium, 7 grams of sugar (which can add up fast, so don’t eat too much at one time), 190 calories per serving, and only 9 calories of fat.
That’s a sweet treat to snack on in my book!

Just a small tip:
Weight loss and becoming fit is largely based on exercise, eating right, etc…but to be truly successful you’re going to need a positive attitude! Find a way to make yourself ENJOY working out…I promise you’ll gain more than a freakin’ AWESOME BOD and good style of living. You’ll learn what it takes to change yourself, because Lord knows you can’t make someone do it for you!

Kate Moss once said, “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.”
Well SURPRISE, she was dead wrong.
Nothing tastes as good as HEALTHY feels! Before you endeavor to become bulimic, anorexic, or go for some other type of eating disorder, remember that attaining a "healthy level of skinny" will last much longer than any starvation process will.
Trying to let starvation do the work for you GUARANTEES FAILURE. Sorry, but that’s the cold hard truth. You want results? WORK FOR THEM. Want to be skinny, healthy, and toned? Be SMART about it!
Starving yourself will only fling you back to the starting line - and maybe even a little before that, too.
Lose weight, be fit, and BE SMART ABOUT IT.

Getting up off your bum and eating right are two INCREDIBLY important parts of the battle.
But there’s another piece as well!
POSITIVE THINKING!
Sure, you can do all the crunches you want - but that won’t get you too far if you’re keeping a negative attitude all through those exercise reps! You’ve probably heard it before - that the key to a healthy body is a healthy mind.
Well, it’s one of the truest things you’ll ever hear!
You won’t get far as a negative nancy - so don’t be one. Encourage yourself, as well as others! Start, become, and STAY positive. It’s the most effective way to keep yourself on track! :)

The only way to fail is to give up.
You’ve started, haven’t you?
See it through to the end - and beyond.

Take time to rejuvenate with the natural world around you. This summer thunderstorm I’m watching happen right outside my window gives me the most blissful feeling of peace. Favorite weather, hands down!
